Welcome to VINE & DINE

Whilst we're primarily about wine, VINE AND DINE is also about pairing food with that wine, and learning which wines complement the dishes of different cuisines.

We visit a different restaurant each month to try new foods and learn which wines to drink with them.

Our gatherings are social events. Guests are seated at long tables so they can meet and chat with other like-minded people.

Wine experts tell you about the wine they are pouring for you – where it comes from, which grapes it is made from, the history of the vineyard and more. The restauranteur will tell you about their cuisine, where the individual dishes you will taste come from, what ingredients are used in their making and the traditions behind the food.

After everyone is seated at the place of their choice, our gatherings begin at 6.30pm with introductions to your host, the restaurant owner and the wine experts that you will hear from later.

To take account of guests unaccustomed to wine tastings, before our first sample dish, we always spend a few minutes learning how to taste wine, how to appreciate the bouquet and taste of the different wines we will taste that evening.

And then our first food sample will arrive and we pour you a taster of the wine we suggest to complement it. A wine expert will tell you the stories behind the wine you are drinking and then let you eat, drink and chat to your neighbours! They will however, come to each table to show guests the bottle and answer any questions you may have.

We usually sample six different food portions with six different wines over the evening. Tasting notes for you to take away are provided for you to write your comments and thoughts. They also provide details of the names of the dish and the country of origin and recommended retail price of the wine.

At the end of the evening we often open a surprise for you if we can and celebrate any birthdays amongst our guests!
